Zoe-perry

Perry was born July 25, 1968 in Chicago In Illinois, she was the child of Laurie Metcalf Perry and Jeff Perry. Her first television roles were two appearances in the role of Jackie Harris (as seen in flashback) on her role on the ABC sitcom Roseanne, the character portrayed by her mother. Perry was forbidden to start acting in front of her family until she reached adulthood, as they feared the stress it would result in. Perry claimed she felt nervous to be an actor in high school but began acting in the theater at Northwestern University as a way to meet new people after she transferred to the university from Boston University. When she graduated, Perry relocated in New York to search for jobs on television, landing small parts on series such as Law & Order: Criminal Intent but homesickness brought Perry back home to California and she was able to find theater work. Her mother and she appeared on Broadway with her in The Other Place, in 2013. In 2015, she was a part of her father as well as Kevin McKidd in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning drama Anna Christie in the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble in West Los Angeles. Perry was in nine episodes of The Family, an ABC drama The Family in 2016. In 2017, she played a supporting role in the ABC political drama Scandal in which her father was the main character. That same year she portrayed a child model of Mary Cooper on Young Sheldon (a CBS spinoff The Big Bang Theory), portraying her mother in a younger version. The actress was chosen for the role in spite of her strong relationship with the character's family.
