Cassandra Monique Batie known professionally as Andra Day is an American R&B and soul vocalist songwriter and actress. She's been awarded the Grammy Award and Children's and Family Emmy Award. Golden Globe Award and Academy Award nominations are also an honor for her. Andra Day, a gifted musician and singer with a background in blues, gospel and gospel that has a passion for the contemporary world, is more than an R&B throwback specialist. In 2019 she released her sophomore album The United States vs. Billie Holiday a concept album on the life of the legendary jazz vocalist. In the same year, she starred in The United States Vs. Billie Holiday (2020), a biopic of Holiday's career. Andi Mathichak was born America. She began her career in TV series like Orange Is the New Black and 666 Park Avenue and Blue Bloods.
